Polymer clay is a durable material that will not shatter if dropped less than 12 inches. However, harder materials such as metal can scratch its surface. Be sure to store your earrings carefully away from other metal jewelry. Also pearls and other metal parts can be damaged by rough handling or improper storage. Please take care, and keep in mind that each earring is a handmade wearable artwork.
Remove makeup or other dirt from clay components by gently going over dirty spots with soft cotton wet with rubbing alcohol or acetone. Use acetone for matte earrings. Use rubbing alcohol for all others.
Water and oils from the skin may tarnish and darken over time the raw brass components of your earrings. They can be easily cleaned with a soft jewelry cloth and/or tarnish remover. Store your earrings away from humidity to reduce tarnish. Earrings with gold filled components will not tarnish.
